Hi All, we have talked around this for a while now and we're now able to put a date on the calendar!
This is a social weekend - but it has a purpose. We have one large tree that need to be cleared away as it has fallen over our creek. So, we thought we'd sell it to interested members as a chance to catch up and as a chainsaw skills practice session. Picture of said tree:
I have cut down a lot of the crown branches as it brought down our boundary fence and so had to be repaired quickly. There's heaps left!
It will be a low key affair. We have, subject to weather (water), areas to camp for VMLCG members. Camper trailers will be fine but caravans will be an issue due to the slopes. Talk to me.
In line with our group governance and risk management policies, we will only be allowing those with chainsaw certificates to undertake the works. Our intent will be to clear this tree over the weekend. How much of that is accomplished in the weekend will depend entirely on the weather and the collective state of energy! Those of you on the ball will note the wood is on the wrong side of the creek! and there ain't no useful bridge...
Totally inappropriate weather will also mean a reschedule so wanted to be upfront about that. I will let you all know in good time if we think that's going to be the way it is going to pan out.
If you are able to attend, please register now and we will add you to the Basecamp project team - and that's how we will send out updates and advice notes. We will be supplying Saturday night dinner and a thank-you/farewell Sunday lunch for the hearty volunteers. It's BYO drinks and all other food.
